I Spy is a television series that originally aired on the NBC network from 1965 to 1968. Starring Bill Cosby and Robert Culp in the role of Pentagon agents, the show capitalized on the secret agent craze of the 1960s. I Spy was also notable because it was the first American television series that had an African-American in a starring role. The show won multiple awards including 3 consecutive Emmys for Bill Cosby. Numerous reunions shows and remakes were made but none ever attained the popularity of the original.
