It's My Party - General Movies

Its My Party is a drama that was released March 22, 1996. It stars Margaret Cho, Bruce Davison, and Lee Grant. It is directed and written by Randal Kleiser. It was produced by Opala Productions which is their only production to date. The film tells the story of Nick Stark who is a gay architect. Nick recently learns he has contracted the AIDS virus and breaks the news to his lover, Brandon, who immediately ends the relationship. Nick knows he doesn't have a lot of time left. He doesn't want this to end his life so he decides he wants to end it himself but before he does, he throws a party for himself celebrating his life with his closest friends and family. He however feels alone without Brandon. This film had a limited released and grossed only 600,000 dollars. In 1997 it was nominated for a GLAAD award in the Outstanding Film Category.
