Jack Ryan - Pop Culture

Author Tom Clancy created the fictional character Jack Ryan. His full name is President Sir John Patrick Ryan, Sr. Jack Ryan has appeared in several novel and film adaptations.
He has been portrayed on-screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck. Ryan Gosling has been slated to reprise the Ryan franchise with the possibility of Sam Raimi directing, but that has yet to materialize.
Ryan's background was established in Without Remose, the sixth novel in the series of 12. He was born in 1950, and is the son of Emmett William Ryan and Catherine Burke Ryan. Both parents were deceased in 1974. His father was a police homicide lieutenant and World War II veteran, and his mother was a nurse. Jack Ryan graduated from Loyola High School in Towson, Maryland and then attended Boston College. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in history.
