Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, is one of the most famous American hip-hop artists. He is savvy businessman and one of the financial most successful artists of all time, recording such hits as “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)”, “Money, Cash, Hoes”, “Can I Get A…”, “Big Pimpin’”, “Encore”, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, “99 Problems”, “Show Me What You Got”, and “Blue Magic”.
He had planned a retirement after the release of The Black Album in 2003, but the retirement proved short lived, as he released Kingdom Come only three years later.
He has collaborated with many of the biggest names in the business including
Beyonce Knowles of the group Destiny’s Child. Jay-Z and Knowles would later go on to marry in 2008, becoming a powerhouse in the world of hip hop.
