Christopher Ashley directed the 1995 American gay romantic comedy film Jeffrey. The movie was produced by Mark Balsam, Mitchell Maxwell, and Victoria Maxwell. The movie is based on a play written by Paul Rudnick, he himself wrote the screenplay for the movie, too. The main cast in the movie are Steven Weber, Michael T. Weiss, Patrick Stewart, Bryan Batt, and Sigourney Weaver.

The movie is set in Manhattan during the height of the AIDS epidemic and revolves around Jeffrey (Steven Weber) a gay who has sworn off sex because of it. Soon he meets Steve Howard (Michael T. Weiss) a charming guy. He undergoes an emotional conflict as he has to handle the fear in order to accept love. The film was primarily shot in Manhattan. The tagline of the movie is 'Love is an adventure when one of you is sure... and the other is positive'. The Booking Office was the production company for the film. Jeffrey was released on August 18, 1995.
