Jon and Kate Plus Eight is a show created by Figure 8 Films about a real couple who had eight children in the form of multiple births. The show displays the trials and triumphs that come with such a crew.
The children consist of the first born girls, a set of twins named Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate, and a set of sextuplets, starting with the oldest of them, named Alexis Faith then Hannah Joy, next comes Aaden Jonathan then Collin Thomas, Leah Hope and finally Joel Kevin. Discovery Health Channel was the first to produce the show, they made the films into specials that last two hours each. Next, TLC Network filmed the family members for a weekly series. Kate and Jon added extra light fixtures to their home to aid the filming. The filming takes three days a week and one of the days is for the interview discussions.
The children's mother Kate Gosselin wrote two books. "Multiple Blessings" hit the market November the 1st, 2008 only to land on New York Times best-sellers list immediately and the second book, called, "Eight Little Faces" is being released in April of 2009. Jennifer Stocks is the producer of the series. Each show lasts 23 minutes before ads. It is still on the air. The program is very high in popularity with a rating of 8.7 at IMDb. The cast consists of the ten members of the Gosselin family plus their two dogs. The whole show is filmed in Pennsylvania.
