While out skipping school, four Harlem teens, Bishop, Q, Raheem, and Steel, find out that an old friend was killed in a shootout at a bar. Bishop decides that they need to get some respect. To get that respect they decide to rob a grocery store, but Bishop intentionally shoots the clerk for no reason. Bishop and Raheem fight over the gun that Bishop shot the clerk with and Raheem ends up getting shot and killed. Only the three left know what happened and Bishop decides he wants to get rid of the other two.
