Lenny Wilkens - NBA Basketball

Lenny Wilkens image Lenny Wilkens attended Providence College and was named All-American two years in a row in 1959 and 1960. Wilkens was drafted as the 6th overall pick in the 1960 NBA Draft by the St. Louis Hawks. Throughout his career he played for four teams, the Hawks, Seattle Supersonics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Portland Trail Blazers. Wilkens was named to the NBA All-Star nine times during his career and was named the All-Star MVP in 1971. When playing with the Seattle Supersonics, Wilkens became one of the first players to coach the team at the same time. Wilkens retired from playing basketball in 1975 and took up coaching full time. Wilkens last coached the New York Knicks, where he resigned in 2005.
