L'Oreal is the world's largest cosmetics company with headquarters outside of Paris in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, France. The company offers men, women and children a wide variety of cosmetics, skin and hair care products including makeup, shampoos, dyes, moisturizers and more. Its famous ad slogan reads "Because I'm worth it."
L'Oreal as a company originated in 1907 when French chemist Eugène Schueller came up with a hair-dye formula he named Auréole. He continued to create and sell his products, a business which would later become famous worldwide.
Because of its testing new products on animals, L'Oreal has received criticism from groups such as Naturewatch Compassionate Shopping.
L'Oreal products are available in major supermarkets, convenience stores and drugstores nationwide.
