MADtv was a comedy sketch show that aired on FOX from 1995 to 2009. The show, which has no connection to the satirical magazine outside its name, was presented as an alternative to
Saturday Night Live, the other sketch comedy show on network TV.
While the show never reached the popularity of SNL it did develop a loyal fan base who preferred their comedy. MADtv was taped an not live which would allow the show to offer a wider variety of sketches, some filmed on location in the street of Los Angeles.
The show is currently looking for another network or cable channel to air.
