Mercury Mariner - General Automotive

The Mariner is a compact luxury sport utility vehicle built by the Mercury division of American automaker Ford. First introduced in 2005, it is the sister vehicle to the Mazda Tribute and the Ford Escape. The car is currently in its second generational design phase.

Power is currently provided by a 3.0L Duratec V6 engine mated to an automatic transmission. The 2009 model will actually see the introduction of a hybrid platform similar to the system found in the Escape hybrid. A plugin version is also under development.
