Andy Breckman created the comedy drama series Monk which airs on the USA network and debuted on July 12, 2002. It has been renewed for its eighth season which will be its final season and will air in the summer of 2009. Tony Shaloub stars as Adrian Monk, a former San Francisco Police Department detective who suffers a breakdown when his wife is killed in a car bombing. He becomes even more obsessive compulsive than he was before the murder but he is still a gift detective who helps out the Department from time to time.

Tony Shaloub has won three Emmys, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actor's Guild Award for his performance. The cast also includes Traylor Howard as Natalie Teeger, Ted Levine as Leland Stottlemeyer, and Jason Gray-Stanford as Randy Disher..
