Nathan Lane stars in 1997's "Mousehunt", a family comedy directed by Gore Verbinski. Lane and Lee Evans play two down-on-their-luck brothers who inherit a mansion and a string factory from their father.
Looking to fix up and sell the house for a fortune, they find only one thing standing in their way... a mouse. The film was written by Adam Rifkin and produced by Bart Brown, Bruce Cohen and Tony Ludwig. The film was made for $38 million and grossed $61.8 million at the box office.
This was the last film appearance by William Hickey who played the father and the film is dedicated to him. Several trained mice were used for the production and included a computer-generated one.
