Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison headline the cast in the 1964 musical film adaptation of the stage musical My Fair Lady. The musical was based on the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. The film was directed by George Cukor. My Fair Lady twelve Academy Award nominations. It won eight Oscars; Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Original Music Score, Best Art Direction, and Best Costume Design. The budget for the movie was $17 million; it earned $72 million at the box office.

There are plans for a possible remake starring Keira Knightley as Eliza Doolittle. Brad Pitt and George Clooney have reportedly fallen out over the remake because both want the same part. Pitt also wants Angelina Jolie as Eliza Doolittle.
