Omar Barlett went into the NBA undrafted, but was signed by the Miami Heat on September 26, 2008. Last season, he appeared in 27 games for Energa Czami Slupsk of the Polish League, averaging 11.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists per game. Barlett was a star at Jacksonville State, but has yet to be given a chance to prove himself at the NBA level. Barlett has never appeared in any games for the Heat, but was used in practice to help Heat star Dwayne Wade with his outside shooting game. The Heat requested waivers on Barlett on October 15, 2008.
