Robert Redford directed the 1980 drama Ordinary People, which went on to win 4 Academy Awards. An affluent family comprised of a seemingly good-natured father, outwardly bitter mother, and guilt-ridden younger brother, struggle with depression and survival of the spirit after tragic events.
