Pirates of the Caribbean - Action & Thriller Movies

Gore Verbinski has directed all the films in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. The first film is subtitled The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), the second film is subtitled Dead Man’s Chest (2006), and the third film is subtitled At World’s End (2007).

Johnny Depp plays the role of Jack Sparrow in all films. Other actors in the films include, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Geoffrey Rush. The first film was a success upon its release. So much so that Disney announced that a trilogy was in the works. The sequel was released on July 7, 2006, and broke box office records worldwide. Dead Man's Chest became the third and fastest film to top the $1 billion mark. The trilogy combined has grossed a total of over $2.79 billion worldwide. As of this writing there are plans for a third sequel slated for release in 2012. Johnny Depp has signed on to reprise his role in the next sequel.
