Eddie Murphy, Larry Wilmore and Steve Tompkins created the stop motion animated TV series called the PJs. Imagine Entertainment, Ron Howard, Brian Glazer, the Murphy Company and Will Winton Studios produced the series which aired on TV from January 10,1999 until May 20, 2001 for three seasons and a total of 40 aired episodes. The show originally was shown on Fox but then moved to the WB.
The show was eventually canceled because of the high cost of production in the stop motion process. It centered around life in a public housing project and starred Eddie Murphy's voice talents. The PJs won three Emmy Awards and one Annie award.
