
Alfred Hitchcock directed the 1954 suspense film Rear Window. The screenplay was written by John Michael Hayes and is based on the 1942 short story It Had To Be Murder by Cornell
Woolrich. The actors in the movie include, James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Wendall Corey, Thelma Ritter, and Raymond Burr. Rear Window is considered to be one of Hitchcock’s best pictures.
The film had its premiere in New York City with proceeds going to the American-Korean Foundation. In attendance at the premiere were officials with the United Nations. The movie was added to the United States National Film Registry in 1997. Rear Window garnered four Academy Award nominations.
