
Renee Zellweger (born April 25, 1969) is an actress and producer best known for her role as Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones' Diary. A Golden Globe, Academy Award, BAFTA and SAG award-winner, Zellweger has recently been named one of the highest paid Hollywood actresses in recent years.
Zellweger discovered a love for acting in college when she took a drama class to satisfy a credit. While still living in Texas, she appeared in minor television and film roles until moving to Los Angeles to film Empire Records and The Whole Wide World. Since, Zellweger has starred in several big-ticket films including Nurse Betty, Bridget Jones' Diary (and its sequel) as well as the film adaptation of the musical Chicago.
