ReVive's roots stem from the work of a plastic surgeon from the United States, Dr. Gregory Bays Brown. Dr. Brown was conducting a multi-million dollar research on burn victims and new approaches in healing their skin. During this study he came upon the factor called the EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor). Noting the properties of this factor could also repair aging skin and restore its more youthful features and traits, Dr. Brown developed a skin cream containing the EGF Factor. He was awarded a Nobel Prize in 1986 for his discovery and he got a patent for EGF in 1994. ReVive became publicly available in 1997.
