
Scoobert Doo, also known as Scooby-Doo, is a fictional dog in the television franchise Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Doo was adopted by the Mystery
Inc. team. He is a Great Dane and is best friends with Norville “Shaggy” Rogers. Scoobert is a variation of the name Robert.
The voice of Scooby-Doo was originally supplied by Don Messick. Messick provided the voice from 1969 to 1996. Messick was followed by Scott Innes, Frank Welker, and Neil Fanning. Scooby-Doo made his big screen appearance in 2002, and was followed by a sequel two years later. There are plans for a second film adaptation to appear on the Cartoon Network sometime in 2009. Scooby-Doo first appeared on Saturday morning television series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!. The series was created for Hanna-Barbara Productions by Joe Ruby, Ken Spears, Fred Silverman, and Iwao Takamoto. The series ran on CBS from 1969 to 1976. It then moved to ABC and ran until it got cancelled in 1986.
