The Secret of My Success is a 1987 comedy about a young man who had recently graduated from college and moves to New York to land a job in high finance. Upon arrival he is immediately laid off and must plead with his rich uncle for a job at the mailroom. The main character Brantley Foster played by Michael J. Fox soon impersonates and assumes the identity of a high finance executive while also falling in love with a female fellow executive. Eventually his lies catch up with him. The film was directed by Herbert Ross who also produced the movie with Nora Kaye. The story was written by A.J. Carothers and the screenplay by Jim Cash. The movie also stars Helen Slater, Richard Jordan, Margaret Whitton, and John Pankow. The film was released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 1987. The film was a hit and grossed over 66 million dollars and was the 7th biggest grossing film of 1987.
