Sex and
the City was a comedy-drama series on HBO that aired from 1998 to 2004. The show, set in New York City, followed the dating adventures of thirty-something Carrie Bradshaw, her friends and their quest to find the "perfect man" in
the city.
The show is told through Carrie's perspective and narration. Carrie writes a newspaper column titled, "Sex and
the City" and uses her and her friends dating disaster, triumphs and mishaps as inspiration for her writing.
The show was a big hit for HBO and was praised for its open in interpretation of women, dating and sex. After the show ended, there was talk of one day making a movie and many people thought it was all talk. In 2008 the Sex and
the City movie was releases and was one of the big blockbusters of the summer. There are rumors for another in the works.
