Seven Samurai is considered one of the greatest films of all time. The movie became one of Japan’s highest-grossing films ever. In addition to directing, Kurosawa also co-wrote the screenplay with Shinobu Hashimoto and Hideo Oguni. The seven samurai are portrayed by Takashi Shimura, Yoshio Inaba, Daisuke Kato, Minoru Chiaki, Isao Kimura, Seiji Miyaguchi, and Toshiro Mifune. Seven Samurai has influenced other films; The Magnificent Seven and Sholay. The film also influenced other filmmakers such as Roger Corman, George Lucas, and Sam Peckinpah.
