The stars in the movie are Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, Sharon Stone, Catherine Keener, Albert Finney, and Liam Waite.

The story is about youths in Azusa, Vinnie, Carter, and Rosie pulling off a racing scam. They substitute winners for plodders and win huge sums of money on long odds. The movie was marketed with the tagline 'How much can three friends share?'. Simpatico was mainly shot in Lexington, Kentucky. Fine Line Features released the movie in 1999. However, the movie was released on February 4, 2000 in the USA.
