Singing in the Rain - General Movies

Hollywood journeys from the era of silent films to talkies in the 1952 comedy musical film Singin’ in the Rain. The movie was directed by and stars Gene Kelly. Other members of the cast include, Donald O’Connor, Debbie Reynolds, Jean Hagen, Millard Mitchell, Cyd Charisse, and Rita Moreno. The movie was nominated for two Academy Awards; Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Music Score. The film was produced by Arthur Freed. Gene Kelly also provided the choreography. Singin’ in the Rain is one of the greatest musicals ever made. The United States Library of Congress chose the movie for preservation in the National Film Registry in 1989.
