The television show, "Smurfs" was shown on Saturday mornings on NBC from 1981 to 1990. It was produced by Hannah Barbara. This show got nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award on several occasions and there often were Smurf specials on television additionally to this Saturday morning series, mostly because of this shows popularity. The adorable Smurfs each with a personality of its own, live in the forest in little houses that look like mushrooms. Their skin is an incredible blue and they live an enchanted exiseance amidst the trees and their mushroom houses. They have a danger lurking on occasion, it is the evil wizard Gargamel who wants to kill the blue people, even eating them would suit him. They struggle to be safe from this villain. Gargamel wants to zap the Smurfs of their magical powers and get these powers for himself.
