So You Think You Can Dance - Reality TV

So You Think You Can Dance is a reality dance competition show on FOX that premiered in 2005. The show holds open auditions across the United States to find the best dancers. Dancers who get past the audition are asked to go to Las Vegas to be part of the show.

For most of the season dancers are paired with a partner and the duo must perform a series of dances. Viewers vote on the couple and the couples with the most votes get to stay and compete. Once the group has been dwindled down to 10 finalist, the pairs are broken up and viewers are able to vote for individual dancers.

The show was created by America Idol produces Simon Fuller and Nigel Luthgoe. The show runs in the summer and has proven to be a big hit for the network delivering big ratings each season.
