BRAVIA is a brand name for a line of high-defintion LCD televisions produced by Sony. BRAVIA stands for “Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture.” BRAVIA is as much a visual processing engine as it is a brand name promising more vibrant colors and deeper blacks than other competing technologies. Currently, all Sony HD LCD TVs carry the BRAVIA name after the old WEGA line was discontinued in 2005. In Japan, the name is also applied to cellular phones.
