The screenplay was written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The movie is the eleventh film in the Star Trek franchise; it features characters from the original series. The cast includes, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, and
Eric Bana. The film was originally scheduled to be released December 25, 2008, but was pushed back to May, 2009. The movie will be released by Paramount Pictures. The film’s budget is $150 million. Star Trek is one of the most beloved science fiction franchises ever.
