Suspect - General Movies

Peter Yates directed this dramatic thriller Suspect which was released by TriStar Pictures on October 23, 1987. Daniel A. Sherkow produced the film and Eric Roth wrote the screenplay.

The movie features Liam Neeson as Carl Wayne Anderson, a homeless deaf-mute veteran who is accused of murdering a dead judge's secretary. The circumstances are suspicious because the judge committed suicide, among other things. Cher stars as public defender Kathleen Riley who defends Carl Wayne. Dennis Quaid is Eddie Sanger, an agribusiness lobbyist and member of the jury, who works with Riley to find out what happened. The movie grossed $18.7 million.
