Tara Reid is an American actress known for her roles in the films
American Pie,
The Big Lebowski, Urban Legend, Girl, Van Wilder, and My Boss’s Daughter.
Growing up in New York, she attended the Professional Children’s School, which has famously produced other young stars such as Home Alone’s Macaulay Culkin, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s
Sarah Michelle Gellar, actors Jerry O’Connell and Ben Taylor, and actress
Christina Ricci. She began her career as a child, doing a few game shows and commercials at only the age of nine.
For a while after her break through role in
American Pie she was considered a rising star, but her star faded and she became more known for her party-girl, tabloid ways than her acting chops. In 2005, she had her own reality show, Taradise, about partying in exotic locations. The show was cancelled after only a month.
Reid has also been known recently as an advocate against plastic surgery. Having had to suffer the disgrace of her own botched plastic surgery (which was highly publicized and criticized), she has gone on talk shows and given interviews to magazines to speak for those who have had to endure this suffering as she has.
