Joseph “McG” McGinty Nichol directs the fourth installment in the
Terminator film franchise,
Terminator Salvation. The movie is set for release in May, 2009.
Terminator Salvation focuses on the war between humanity and Skynet, and takes place in the year 2018.
The film stars
Christian Bale as John Connor. Connor is a soldier who wages war against Skynet after it destroys much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. Other actors in the film include, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Moon Bloodgood, Common, Roland Kickinger, and Helena Bonham Carter. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be unable to reprise his role as the
Terminator because he currently serves as Governor of California. Danny Elfman will be providing the music for the film.
