Batman. It is the highest grossing movie of 2008, and the fourth highest grossing film of all time. The Dark Knight also features Heath Ledger as the quintessential Joker. Unfortunately, Ledger died shortly after filming completed.
Christopher Nolan has revamped the
Batman film franchise to the delight of critics and diehard fans. Other actors in the cast include, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart,
Maggie Gyllenhaal, and
Morgan Freeman. The Dark Knight was released by Warner Bros. on July 16, 2008. The movie set a new midnight record on the opening day with $18.5 million. The film appeared on several top ten lists of best films of 2008.
