The movie also stars Scott Glenn, Sam Neill, James Earl Jones, Joss Ackland, Richard Jordan, Peter Firth, Tim Curry, Ronald Guttman, and Stellan Skarsgard. The Hunt for Red October was released on March 2, 1990 to mostly negative reviews. In spite of the reviews the movie grossed $200 million worldwide. The movie also won the Academy Award for Sound Editing in 1991.
