The Office(US) is a sitcom on NBC that was adapted for American television from the British comedy of the same name. The American version is set in Scranton, Pennsylvania and focuses on the employees of Dunder Mifflin paper company. Just like the British version, the show is shot in with a single camera and gives the appearance of a crew making a documentary.
There was some worry among fans of the original UK version that the American one would not be as funny or as good. While the few episodes of the show were very similar to the UK one, the show did find its own vision and proved to be one of the best comedies on TV. Rickey Gervais, creator of the original office has even said that the American version has surpassed the original.
