The Ring - Horror Movies

Gore Verbinski directed the 2002 popular American remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film of the same name. The movie was based on a novel of the same name by Kozi Suzuki. Walfer F. Parkes, Roy Lee, Laurie MacDonald and Michael Macari were the producers of the movie.

The screenplay was written by Kozi Suzuki and Ehren Kruger. Naomi Watts and Martin Henderson are the lead stars in the movie. It also features Daveigh Chase, David Dorfman, Brian Cox and Jane Alexander. The focus of the movie is on a mysterious cursed videotape which has a seemingly random series of disturbing, grainy, black and white images. Upon watching the tape, the viewer receives a call condemning the viewer to death in exactly seven days. The movie was released by DreamWorks SKG on October 18, 2002.

The film's budget was $48 million and it grossed over $249 million making it a big financial success at the box office. The movie received generally positive reviews. The movie was followed by Rings a short film.
