The 4Runner is an SUV manufactured by Toyota of Japan and first introduced in 1984. The model originally started out as a compact SUV but has since evolved to pickup truck form factor with a large fiberglass shell. Power is provided by either a 4.0L V6 or 4.7L V8 through at 5 speed automatic transmission. All 4Runners are currently manufactured in either Japan or Brazil.
A 2007 safety survey showed the 4Runner has having one of the best crash test ratings and one of the lowest death rates for all vehicles.
