Toyota Prius - General Automotive

The Prius is a hybrid vehicle developed and produced by Toyota of Japan and first introduced in 1997. The 2004 redesign and its subsequent generations are the best-selling hybrid vehicles on the market as well the most fuel efficient car sold in the United States.

The Prius employs Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive technology which divides the car’s power between an electric motor and a gasoline engine. The power of the electric motor and battery are harnessed whenever possible to save fuel and regenerative braking allows the forward momentum of the car to recharge the battery. The fuel economy and appealing design have created such demand for the Prius that it is not unusual to find the model sold out in many locales.

Toyota promises more power with even more fuel efficiency for future models.
