Volvo is a Swedish car manufacturer based in the city of Gothenburg. The name Volvo is Latin for “I roll” or “I drive” which is more accurate in the modern sense. Their vehicles have an especially strong reputation for safety and reliability with one 1966 Volvo P1800S holding the Guinness World Record for mileage at nearly 3 million miles. Volvo’s commitment to safety is highlighted by their numerous pioneering contributions including the development of the modern 3-point Safety Belt as well the first to introduce side airbags.
