Cheers, then you know Woody Harrelson. Harrelson played, Woody Boyed, the lovable, but not so bright bartender on the hit sitcom for eight years. After the sitcom ended, Harrelson made a string of hit movies that included White Men Can't Jump, Natural Born Killers and The People Vs. Larry Flint.
His portrayl of pornographer Larry Flynt earned him his first Academy Award nomination, and although he didn't win, he proved that he was capable of playing a wide range of characters. He made many movies and in 2001 returned to television in a recurring role on the hit sitcom Will & Grace.
Aside from his acting, Harrelson is also known for being an activist. He is a strong supporter of the legalization of marijuana and hemp in the United States. He was arrested in 1996 after he planted a hemp seed to challenge the state law that failed to distinguish between marijuana and hemp. A case that he won. He is also an activist for the environment, a vegan and raw foodist.
Harrelson recently married his long time girlfriend Laura Louie. They have been together since 1990 and have three children together.
