The Conficker virus may strike on April 1, 2009 according to CNN. The Conficker virus sends out messages to about 500 domain names seeking orders for what to do. The virus is expected to expand to 50 thousand names. The virus has reportedly infected up to 15 million computers already. The Conficker Cabal, a group of computer scientists and security companies, determined that the virus is set to download an update on April 1st. It is expected the virus could erase data on computers, take down Web sites, or prompt users to buy fake security software. Microsoft has offered a $250,000 reward for the capture of the criminal minds behind the Conficker virus.
