Lieberman to Stump For GOP And May Not Seek Dem Nod In 2012

Brad H. Oct 30, 2009, 9:47 pm
Right, don't blame Joe; blame the Connecticut Democrats, who basically told him to get lost and then are all upset because he whupped the Democratic nominee. Democrats expect some loyalty from a guy they dragged through the dirt? I hardly think so.

I dunno. Not exactly like he should can be expected to have any real love for the Democratic Party, which basically showed him the door.

Washington Post Poll Finds Strong Support for Public Option

Brad H. Oct 20, 2009, 9:19 pm
Hmm. I think it may depend on the poll. Rasmussen poll shows support down to 42%. http://www.rasmussenreports.co...

I think you are right, Johnathan, that it depends on how the questions are stated. It appears from the WP article, that a plurality oppose the current proposals ("Overall, 45 percent of Americans favor the broad outlines of the proposals now moving in Congress, while 48 percent are opposed"), but that may be because of how congress wants to fund it. Gallup finds 25% support ithttp://www.gallup.com/poll/123...

Oops. ... 25% support it, 33% oppose, and for 39%, it "depends." I'd think there is ample reason for the WP to call it controversial.

Teabaggers are complicating GOP comeback efforts

fd - (still Brad despite change of image) You take a lot of space to not answer why you are a Dem if you like lower taxes, small government, and the gov staying out of people's business. Your idea of nationalizing health care to ensure the survival of capitalism (and the survival of entire American people, no less!) is bizarre. If health care is controlled privately, that's capitalistic; if the government partially controls it, that's semi-capitalistic or semi-socialist; if the government completely runs it, that's socialist. You seem to be saying that it needs to be socialist to be capitalist, which is just silly. I weary of this, so feel free to take the last shot.
