How about transparency in government, like the "It'll all be on C-Span" transparency he promised in the health-care debate? Transparency is just for little people, I guess.

Obama basically told the Republicans they were not being bipartisan enough because they weren't agreeing with him. Mono-directional bipartisanship. Hmm, wonder if the Democrats ever invited Bush to speak to them. Not saying they didn't, but can't remember anything like that.

And the loony fringe of the Democratic party is doing the same thing, starting to turn on Obama and Biden and the gang: http://www.washingtonexaminer....

fd - Your concern for the wellbeing of the GOP is truly touching. I had no idea!
Brad H. Oct 18, 2009, 12:51 am
So you approve of lower taxes and smaller government and the gov staying out of people's lives (like their health insurance?) I agree the GOP has not exactly been a shining light, lately, but if you approve of those things, what in the world are you doing being a Democrat?

Hmmmm. It looks cool but I'm dubious about this. the robot is only a "concept" at this point, though it looks totally do-able, but I also suspect that city and state laws would prevent robot vehicles from driving on streets and in parking lots, something unlikely to change any time soon.

Hmm. I wonder if it is because the WSJ is growing its circulation or because USA Today is shrinking. I may even have to read the article.
Brad H. Oct 14, 2009, 8:30 pm
Both. WSJ up, USA Today down. Interesting that WSJ is bucking the newspaper death spiral.

Saint Obama? fd - methinks that anybody who says "that idiot George W Bush and his neo-con gang of wackos" sounds a bit hypocritical talking about "haters." Saint Obama?
Brad H. Oct 10, 2009, 3:41 pm
fd: I see. You conclude that your political opponents are haters, presumably on the basis of their rude and insulting words, but you don't want anybody to conclude that you are a hater because of your rude and insulting words. Instead, you want people to give you a pass because you believe you are speaking the truth, but at the same time you refuse to accept that your opponents may think they are speaking the truth. Thanks for clarifying.

I think the award says more about the Nobel Prize committee than about Obama. I think he reacted fine, but he's done nothing but talk, and who knows if that will ever result in any practical advance toward peace. Is there nobody in the world who has actually DONE something that clearly advanced peace? Are we reduced to giving the award to someone with good intentions?

Ummmm. What exactly did Mr. Obama do to deserve this prize? I guess you don't have do do anything. Just being "not Bush" is sufficient. What a laugh!

Pardon me while my knee jerks, but do we really want the people who are currently mismanaging Medicare, Medicaid, VA hospitals, SEC, FEMA, Social Security, the federal budget, etc., to be in charge of the whole country's health?
