Approximately 24,000 children, aged 18 and under, suffer from the death of a parent to suicide each year. Of this group, 80% grieve for their father. I am among their company . . . a teen survivor who lost her father to suicide at age 13. I'm the author of "Crossing 13: Memoir of a Father’s Suicide." My intention is to break down societal stigmas by creating open dialog about suicide to bring about healing and prevention. So, let’s talk about suicide!
