12th and Republic is going to be shutting down indefinitely. Life intrudes. Other formats, other genres, are absorbing my interest these days. Also, I'd be lying like a dog if I said the displacing of the OTR homeless by 3CDC and the city government didn't leave me at a loss for words.

Rereading the Enquirer's June 7th article about City Council's latest attempt to micro-manage the 17 or so people who panhandle downtown. Council passed "a set of guidelines" for shelters to help shelter staff "discourage" panhandling. But most of the panhandlers I know cannot possibly feel ... Comment - Like

Early in March a female officer could be seen strolling the sidewalk on West 12th between Vine and Race. The festive, celebratory gunfire began a tad early this year. According to www.time.gov it was 11:59:20 P.M. on December 31, 2009 when the shooting started. Much of it was confined to west of Central Parkway, and to Avondale.

Recently received an email from a friend's address, but I am quite sure she didn't write it. An outfit from Shanghai called unsico.com, purports to offer all sorts of electronic and computer stuff for impossibly low prices. Have you seen the graffiti on the concrete pillars at the south entrance to Washington Park? Last year a serious effort was made to give those pillars a thorough cleaning.
