About Me

Nick Hayes was a former graduate of the Narconon drug rehab program in 2005, and did experience first hand the pains of a 12 year long addiction to drugs and alcohol. Having travelled, worked, and lived all over Canada, he saw the devastation drugs and alcohol brought to others and to him. Nick once had a very successful career working in the private security sector, and also established a career working with residential contractors. Unfortunately, he lost everything due to his addiction.

Nick was living in Vancouver at the time before he sought help again for his addiction, fortunately this time was more successful, and he was more determined to make it work. His mother still lives in Sarnia, Ontario, and his father is living in Calgary, Alberta. Nick has two younger brothers who both serve in the Canadian military and also both did tours overseas in Afghanistan. They both live in Edmonton. He is very proud of the family he has, and their continued and ongoing support.

Nick takes much enjoyment in writing, and feels there needs to be more information about drugs and alcohol provided to the people of the world. He believes nobody should have to go through an addiction; however, sometimes choices are made that puts these people in difficult spots. He is inspired by his own experiences, and the lives that are saved every day through the Narconon program. Nick knows the difficulty of trying to get out of an addiction; yet, with the right help no matter what it is, and self-determination, it can be done.
