People's constitutional rights were being trampled to promote politicians political careers by passing laws that look tough on crime. But what they are really doing is punishing people who have done their time and are no longer at risk to anyone. The other thing that is happening is not everyone on the Sex Offender Registry is a child molester or rapist. Often there teens who sext or get involved with a younger teen, or people caught peeing behind a dumpster. While I never want anyone to be harmed there are better ways to assure that no child is sexually abused. Like educating yourself about what the signs are.
