Sitting on the side of a volcano, you can get some good views from up here. Top photo is looking west towards Lahaina at sunset, then just after that looking almost straight up in the sky was the moon. Comment - Like

It's been a long while since I've had some surf shots of myself, I broke down and bought these from the local photog at Hookipa. He doesn't usually get alot of shots at Lanes as he usually shoots straight out front at Hookipa, so I was lucky... Comment - Like

New swell filled in overnight as it was only shoulder high yesterday. Lanes was the place to be as the point was full of rip and current. I prefer Lanes anyways cause I don't really care for going righ... Comment - Like

Small hints of a new NNW swell on the Waimea Buoy early this morning so I rolled the dice and headed down at the crack. Saw a couple shoulder high waves with only 2 ppl out so I figured what the heck.

I sought out some new teeth for the Timpone as I was having issues with the fins that came with the board. They had plenty of drive, but hard off the bottoms came alittle tough to square off. The front and trailers were the same size and were fairly flexy.

Six months on the books and things keep getting better. Swell seasons are changing as the NPAC keeps sending pulses our way. Not too many swell angles/shadowing a problem here. Alot gets in and packs more energy than SoCal will ever see.

HI buoys were offline early so I went with the forecasted swell. Coming down the hill you could see the outer reefs were showing swell, but with alittle wind already showing.

I know its early, but after watching 'chopes all day yesterday I'm getting a little antsy. This was the only HI buoy that was showing pre-runners as of early.
